When a problem arises on a personal, workplace or family level, we usually zoom in on the details of the situation, the individual and the facts that caused the problem.<\/p>\n

From here, we then start looking for a solution. Logical and good! Yet it doesn’t always work… Do you know the feeling?<\/span><\/p>\n

Systemic work offers a different perspective to explore what it is really about. It is a powerful approach that goes beyond the individual focus and focuses on the dynamics within the wider system in which someone operates. This can be a family, a team, an organisation or any other kind of social context.<\/p>\n

Systemic coaching offers unique insights and tools to understand and address complex issues and patterns. It is not about how a symptom shows up on the surface but rather beyond the visible, below the surface.
Because you change perspective, you come to different interventions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting with the question: \u201cWhat is this problem a solution for?\u201d quickly offers a different perspective on (un)conscious patterns in a team or organisation. You don’t focus on the symptoms but try to get to the root of what the symptoms are trying to make visible. Some patterns are a blessing, others can sometimes be a curse. Patterns do not always want to be solved, but above all they want to be understood.<\/p>\n

Being connected to where you came from gives a firm ground to stand on<\/h2>\n

Our ancestors: in our Western culture, there is usually little awareness of them. We know our parents, grandparents, and, with any luck, our great-grandparents. The past is often literally placed behind us, while we focus on the future. As a result, we forget that we are building onto the shoulders of those who came before us.<\/p>\n

Being in connection with those that came before provides a solid ground to stand on.<\/span> Cutting yourself off from it takes energy. That does not mean agreeing with everything that has been. You have your own path to walk, a path your ancestors may not agree with. Living from this form of \u2018 disloyalty\u2019 can be uncomfortable and painful. But that is what growing is all about.<\/p>\n

You too will one day belong to the ancestor field. Who are you when you consciously connect with who comes after you? What do you want to leave to your children, your company, society?<\/p>\n

Organisations that honour their origins and their founders are more solid and resilient.<\/h2>\n

Within organisations, the original founders are regarded as the ancestors. Even if they are no longer present, it is powerful for both the organisation and the founders themselves that they can still take on a role of \u2018elder\u2019 or \u2018wise elder\u2019. For example, they can remain available to give advice (when asked to do so) while leaving room for successors. Sometimes, however, founding fathers continue to wander the organisation too frequently. Even though this is well-intentioned, it usually has a negative effect by creating confusion and loyalty conflicts.<\/p>\n

Organisations that honour their origins and their founders are more solid and resilient. Leaders who actively contribute in this way support the message that they are aware that the company did not start with them. They receive from those who came before them but realise that their presence also adds something. Their ego then has the right size.<\/p>\n
